Grass Strings on Saturday, May 9, 2009, 8pm
For two years in a row the Grass Strings have brought down the house at Garner’s Gift Community Variety Show. Since people clearly could not get enough of the terrific 4-part harmony of Jimmy Burris on bass, Jim Farrington on baritone, Lynn Russell on tenor, Jeff Russell on lead, as well as the dulcet tones of Ronnie Caudle, the Town of Garner and the Grass Strings decided to dedicate an entire evening to this phenomenal bluegrass band. Three of the band members have sung and played together since 1976. One is a second generation member. All are seasoned and talented musicians who prove that old adage that the sum is even better than its parts. Bluegrass does not get better!
